The porosity of porous media is a key factor affecting cement slurry diffusion. In this paper, theoretical model diffusion in considering the variation proposed. validated through comparison with experimental results literature. influence injection parameters (i.e., water–cement ratio and pore fractal dimension) on strength analyzed. indicate that: under same dimension, specimen increases gradually increase distance, rate rapidly later stage. Mineral precipitation-induced porosity reduction and its effect on transport parameters in diffusion-controlled porous media
BACKGROUND In geochemically perturbed systems where porewater and mineral assemblages are unequilibrated the processes of mineral precipitation and dissolution may change important transport properties such as porosity and pore diffusion coefficients. These reactions might alter the sealing capabilities of the rock by complete pore-scale precipitation (cementation) of the system or by opening n...
متن کاملInfluence of alkalis on porosity percolation in hydrating cement pastes
Loss-on-ignition (LOI) measurements and low temperature calorimetry (LTC) are used to study the properties of hydrating cement pastes with various quantities of alkalis. In addition to the well-known acceleration of early age hydration and ‘‘retardation’’ of later age hydration, the alkalis are observed to have a significant effect on the percolation of the porosity in the hydrating systems, as...
متن کاملTortuosity-porosity relation in porous media flow.
We study numerically the tortuosity-porosity relation in a microscopic model of a porous medium arranged as a collection of freely overlapping squares. It is demonstrated that the finite-size, slow relaxation and discretization errors, which were ignored in previous studies, may cause significant underestimation of tortuosity. The simple tortuosity calculation method proposed here eliminates th...
متن کاملDiffusion in Porous Media
Porous media are of considerable interest in a very diverse range of activities. They comprise a wide variety of substances—plastics, ceramics, cements, clays, rocks, porous glasses, carbons, silica gels, zeolites, the recently emerging metal–organic frameworks and coordination polymers, and many more. Even biological tissues may share many features of porous media. Depending on the given natur...
متن کاملDiffusion and magnetic relaxation in model porous media.
Diffusion and magnetic relaxation are studied in computer-generated model two-dimensional porous media whose three-dimensional analogs resemble commercially prepared Vycors and aerogels. When diffusion rates are compared for two different samples, one with average pore diameter much shorter than the other but with the same porosity, a crossover is observed where the asymptotic long-time diffusi...
